This kit is compatible *only* with certain Hammer DVR models. It may not work with other models.

No, it connects to the ACC power which manages power flow. If installed correctly, it powers the dash cam without killing the battery.

The Yellow wire connects to B+ (Battery), the Red to ACC (Ignition), and the Black to GND (Ground/Chassis).

You need this kit if you want to use the 24-hour Parking Monitor features of your dash cam, as the cigarette lighter socket usually turns off with the engine.
